Grow Pastor and Director of The Center for Christian Growth

Like so many others I’ve met, I gave my life to Christ at nine years old, but it wasn’t until I was a senior in college that I really began to grow in my faith. I wanted to know in a deeper way the faith that I professed, so I started reading my Bible and spending time with other believers and it really transformed my life. There really is no substitute for time in the Word, prayer and fellowship with other believers.

My whole life I thought I was going to be a baseball coach. I played college baseball and two years in the minor leagues with the St. Louis Cardinals, and after I was released in 2004, I thought I would transition right into coaching. I quickly found out that God had other plans. While coaching at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA, I took a youth pastor position in a small town nearby. It wasn’t long after I took that position that I knew that the ministry is where God was calling me. From there I worked at two other churches and spent three years working for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Central Louisiana.

In 2009, my wife and I packed our bags and headed to Fort Worth for me to go to Southwestern Seminary. I finished my Masters of Divinity in 2012 and I am currently in the PhD program. I came on staff with Christ Chapel in July of 2013.

My wife, Ariane, was born and raised in Belo Horizonte, Brazil and came to the United States to play volleyball. We have two wonderful daughters, Rachel and Emily, who are definitely a handful! With two young daughters much of my spare time is spent watching animated movies, which turns out is more fun that I thought. I enjoy watching movies and playing different sports, but what I love to do in my spare time is sit down with a great book and read.
