Like many people who grow up in small town Texas, I was at church every time the doors were open. My parents served in many ways and it led me to be very connected and involved. I came to an understanding of who Christ was at a young age, and sometime around 10 or 11 years old I accepted Jesus as my Savior. It’s hard for me to nail down a specific age or moment, but I do know that through the next several years my walk with Christ continued to grow and was greatly impacted by camps and discipleship events. It was through events like these and the constant encouragement of several faith mentors and friends that I am continually growing into the man God has called me to be.
I came to serve Christ Chapel simply through God’s perfect timing and direction in May of 2019. After years of chasing multiple different career options to support my family, my wife and I began praying for direction. One that would both fulfill my wants to serve the local church and provide an opportunity to get back into the career field I originally went to school for. I’m thrilled to be a part of the growth in discipleship and ministry happening in north Texas through Christ Chapel and excited to see what the younger generations of Christ Chapelites can do to reach the lost and serve the communities around us! I know that my role is not just to be a lighting designer, a part of a production team or creative department, but rather a servant, disciple and spreader of the Good News. Paul charges us in Colossians 3 to “let the message of Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and council each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And WHATEVER you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.”
My wife, Shelby, and I, live in Weatherford. We have a one-year-old son, Maverick, and are pregnant with a little girl, Madilynn, set to arrive in the spring. We share our house with our Dachshund/Beagle/Terrier/Mutt mix, Willie Nelson, and German Shorthaired Pointer, Annie Oakley. Outside of work, my hobbies include woodworking, hunting, fishing, cooking, playing guitar and unimpressive rounds of golf.
