Truly, I don’t remember a time when I didn’t know Jesus. I was raised in a home in which we all loved the Lord. I remember being in elementary school and falling asleep every night to Bible Talk Radio. I’d ask my parents really hard questions about the Bible because I wanted to know more. I’m blessed to say it feels like I’ve always been on this path of knowing and loving Christ.
When I was a college freshman, I came to Fort Worth from Albuquerque, New Mexico and Christ Chapel became my home. Christ Chapel remained our church home all the way through college, as a newly-wed, and as we started raising our kids. Shortly after moving to Aledo, my spouse and I separated. During that experience, I kept running into friends that we had at Christ Chapel in Fort Worth and they all would say something like, “You’ve got to get to re|engage.” It kept coming back up so I called Soul Care and remember asking, “Can I do re|engage by myself? I can’t get my spouse to go.” They told me that no, it’s really a two-person deal. At that time I remember thinking there was no point or hope, so I handed it all over to Jesus. My husband later decided to come back and reconcile. When he did, because so many people had told us about re|engage, we decided to give it a try. It totally transformed our marriage and God used the experience to do a 180 on our relationship.
Through that experience, and seeing how re|engage is unlike any other ministry we’d ever been through, I knew I really wanted to work with re|engage in some capacity. God can do great things – and I’m excited to be helping re|engage grow at the West Campus.
Today, I’m grateful to say that my husband and I have been married for 17 years. We have three kids – all in middle school! Together as a family, we love to be outside and take care of our animals. We have a wild mustang, two longhorns, two alpacas, ducks, chickens, dogs, cats, lizards and snakes … basically one potbellied pig short of a petting zoo!
