When I was in high school my parents started taking us to Catholic church. I thought I had a really good relationship with Jesus because I did everything we were supposed to do (taking all of the classes, going every Sunday, taking communion), but as I got older I drifted away from it all. Then I met my husband. He had been introduced to Christ Chapel through a friend. He brought me to Christ Chapel and after we got married and moved to Weatherford, we started attending the West Campus. In 2019 I went to the Women’s Winter Morning of Prayer and was blown away. I realized that morning that what I really had was more like a relationship with religion (from my Catholic background) rather than a relationship with Jesus. Having that realization and beginning a relationship with Jesus changed my life.
After that shift, I starting praying a lot about what path I should be taking and what I was supposed to do to better serve God. I absolutely loved my job, but I got there one day and realized I didn’t want to be there anymore. My husband said he would support whatever I wanted to do and I had this gut feeling to check Christ Chapel’s website. I did and found this assistant screening coordinator position. It was going to be a huge change for us, but in the process of figuring it out if it was the right move to make, I decided that if all the pieces fell in to place, it was meant to be. Well, everything fell into place and here I am! I’m excited about the people I now get to work with and the environment I’m in — it’s such a difference from the corporate world.
In my spare time I love doing yoga. I’m also currently going to school for a business degree. I’ve been married for two years and we have two dogs and a cat.
