Welcome to Fifth+Sixth!

______________

We’re all about opening the Bible and talking about the gospel. Each week we challenge our students to contextualize that great news about Jesus and see how it applies to every facet of their lives. Our hope is that young students would have meaningful friendships with other believers their age and strong families that spur them on to trust and treasure God and the gospel.

Welcome to Fifth+Sixth!

______________

Here at 5th+6th West, we are all about lives being transformed by the word of God. As the gateway to student ministry, our goal is to teach our students how to articulate the gospel, connect with a community and gain confidence in their ability to study God’s Word. We hope that each of our students will deepen their understanding of what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

On Sundays around our Fort Worth Campus, Fifth+Sixth Ministry is an all-day affair.

________
We think small groups are the most important thing we do. Small groups are a chance to study parts of the Bible in depth, grow in your love for God and share your life with friends and leaders who love you. Groups stay together year-round so you are bound to pretty much make a bunch of new best friends!

The Commons

________

Each week, 5th+6th meets on Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m. in The Commons. During our large group time we engage our students with games, worship, and teaching that is specifically designed for the unique needs of preteens. Here at Christ Chapel, the heart of our student ministry model is small groups, and each of our students are assigned to a small group based on their grade level and gender. Small groups are led by qualified adults and high school leaders who are ready to walk alongside our students through the individual challenges they face. Small groups happen directly after the large group teaching time so students, along with an adult leader, can immediately discuss and apply to their life what they just heard. If you come to church on a Sunday morning, don’t forget to bring your Bible!

CURRENT EVENTS

______________

While taking time to study, worship, and learn in small groups at church is valuable, building community by doing life together outside of Sunday morning program is an incredibly important part of what we do. Events are a great opportunity for your student to interact with their peers in a safe environment that builds lasting relationships. While we are a Christ-centered ministry, we are also SERIOUSLY FUN.
Don’t miss out on our next event at 5th+6th!

________

For students seriously interested in deepening their personal walk with Jesus, we offer a weekly Bible study on Wednesday afternoons, from 4:30-6:00 p.m. in The Commons. Students are divided up between boys and girls, as we spend time carefully walking through the scriptures in order to develop some basic disciplines of good Bible Study methods. Our aim is to help our students grow confident in their ability to study God’s word on their own. If you come to Bible Study, make sure you bring a Bible, a notebook, and a pen!

HEY PARENTS

______________

Wondering why we have a ministry focused on 10-, 11- and 12-year-olds? There are a number of reasons to point to but in a nutshell, the family and the church are faced with a population of adolescents that inhabit a unique place within society. Teens are introduced to temptations like peer pressure, body image, sex and drugs earlier and earlier, and our hope is to help 5th and 6th graders develop a mature and lasting faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ before they begin their teenage years.

PARTNERING WITH PARENTS

______________

As a preteen ministry, we understand the unique challenges that our students face in this stage of life. Teens are introduced to temptations like peer pressure, body image, sex and drugs earlier and earlier, and our hope is to help our students develop a mature and lasting faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ before they begin their teenage years. Partnering with parents along this journey is highly important to us, and we are always looking for ways to keep you informed and involved with the things that your student is doing.
