What a life! Family, friends and good work to do. Who could ask for more? Growing up on a farm in Louisiana surrounded by grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins was a great beginning for me. The next huge event of my life was the life transforming encounter with the living God while I was in graduate school. I spent many wonderful years in ministry with Campus Crusade for Christ in Texas, California, Georgia and Washington D.C. and now, of all places, Fort Worth, Texas! This feels more like home all the time.
Home for me includes Augustine (Gus), Luther, and Calvin (Callie) and Wesley (who lives outside) - four very theological cats - plus Zoe and Murphy, two very barky little dogs.

Lynn Kitchens Assistant Minister to Women

When I was young, I used to hope that I could live somewhere that was warm and sunny when I grew up. Little did I know that one day God would bring me to the sunniest and warmest state in the country - Texas! I grew up just outside of Chicago and came to know Jesus through the ministry of Young Life. I eventually became involved in Young Life leadership during college and was working at a Young Life camp in Colorado where I met a young “cowboy” named Ted. After we married we continued working with youth in Young Life and church until God brought us to a small church named Christ Chapel Bible Church over 25 years ago. What a blessing to be a part of this wonderful group of believers for all these years! I am grateful to be a part of the Women’s Staff team where I serve in the Between Women of God mentoring ministry, Prayer ministry and Women’s Events.

"And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God and Jesus Christ whom you have sent." –John 17:3
The truth of this verse is what gets me up every morning: the joy of knowing Jesus Christ for the glory of God. It seems too good to be true that He enabled me to know Him and lets me serve in His church.
I graduated with a PR degree from the University of South Carolina and a Master's Degree in Church and Community Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. If I'm not at church, you'll probably finding me eating some chocolate, watching a sports event, hanging out with some friends or working out.

"Whoever gives thought to the word will discover good..." – Proverbs 16:20
It was a love for language and communication that led me to study journalism, writing and public relations in college, but it has been a devotion to the written words, and Author, of the Bible that has brought the most meaning to my life. In my part-time job with Christ Chapel, I serve on the leadership team for Common Ground, an outreach to working women, and lead The Scope Series evening events for women under the age of 35. It's a great merging of my two worlds, since I direct marketing/communications projects for clients as part of my full-time position at a great Fort Worth agency. I recently earned a master of divinity (M.Div) from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and hold a bachelor of arts in communication from Lee University. You can often find me reading a book, and possibly sipping iced tea, while enjoying the Texas sunshine.
