Women in the Word

This ministry provides a relevant, challenging exploration
of God’s Word in an atmosphere of fellowship.

"Jesus: Servant and Sacrifice"

Thursdays, Jan. 12 through April 26, 2012
9:45 a.m. in the Main Sanctuary
– or –
7 p.m. in the Chapel

In Mark’s fast-paced gospel, Jesus, the servant, is touching, healing, and telling people the Good News of God: that He is for us and He is near! Mark’s gospel gives a detailed description of Jesus as our ultimate, atoning sacrifice as He dies on the cross and is raised from the dead. As we study Mark’s clear and straightforward presentation, we’ll discover that the Jesus we see calming storms, healing the broken and giving meaning to life is still the same Jesus who can do that for us today!

Take your next step with God by beginning
a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Admit that you're a sinner, separated from a holy and perfect God.
(Romans 3:23, Isaiah 53:6)

Understand that the penalty for your sin is death - eternal separation from God and all that is good.
(Romans 6:23, Hebrews 9:27)

Believe that Jesus Christ took the penalty for your sin by dying in your place and conquered death by raising from the dead.
(Romans 5:8, 2 Corinthians 5:21)

Receive the free gift of salvation by trusting in Christ alone as your Savior from sin and death and your provider of true and eternal life.
(Romans 4:4-5, 5:1, Ephesians 2:8-9)

One way you can express your trust in Jesus Christ is by telling God Himself:

"Dear God,

I know that I'm a sinner. I know my sin deserves to be punished. I believe Christ died for me and rose from the grave. I trust Jesus Christ alone as my Savior. Thank You for the forgiveness and everlasting life that I now have. It is because of Jesus that I have peace praying these things to you.

- Amen."
