Ministries: Small Groups: frequently asked questions
connect header

What is a small group?

A small group is a collection of people who meet together regularly to get to know one another and God better. At Christ Chapel Bible Church, we believe small groups are the best way to be connected to the church and others.

How often do small groups meet?

Most small groups meet weekly and some meet bi-weekly.

Where do Small Groups Meet?

Often, small groups meet in a host’s home (with 5-star amenities of course!).  These homes are scattered throughout the Fort Worth and surrounding areas. Wherever you are, there is probably a small group near you. If there isn’t a small group close to you, maybe you could consider starting one yourself!

How are small groups divided?

As stated above, some small groups are divided depending on where you live. Life stages are another way groups are divided.

Life Stage 1:
Middle School/High School and College

Life Stage 2:
20’s and early 30’s (Singles and Couples)

Life Stage 3:
30’s (Singles and Couples); children of families are usually between ages 0-12 years of age.

Life Stage 4:
40’s and early 50’s (Singles and Couples); children of families are usually Middle School age and older.

Life Stage 5:
Early 50’s and mid 60’s (Singles and Couples)

Life Stage 6:
Mid 60’s+ (Singles and empty nester couples)

Our Philosophy?

Christ Chapel Bible Church is a church made up of small groups. We believe that a small group context provides the best opportunity for people to worship God. This happens by people connecting with others in deep relationships, growing in their knowledge of God’s truth, sharing joys and struggles, and serving others within as well as outside the group.

Is there a convenient time to join a group?

Any time is a good time to get involved by joining a small group which you can do through our website. However, there is one time a year which is a rallying point for our small groups called our Fall Campaign. Beginning in September for six weeks, every small group is given a consistent and corresponding message. This takes place through the preaching from the pulpit, a DVD, and a daily devotional guide. This time is meant to unify our church and deepen our walk with God together.

What do we do the rest of the year?

After the Fall Campaign, groups will meet throughout the year to study various topics as chosen by the individual groups and their leaders. Some groups decide to study certain books of the Bible and some chose subjects that are relevant to your particular life stage such as finances, parenting, marriage, and decision making.

Curriculum Options?

There are different curriculum options available depending on subject and format. Some materials offer DVDs to supplement discussion and some simply use booklets.

What if I want to start a group?

Fill out the form below and submit it to Luke Samuelson, the Connect Director. He will then get in contact with you about needs in your geographical area, needs in your life stage, and the best way to serve God’s Kingdom by your contribution.

Take your next step with God by beginning
a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Admit that you're a sinner, separated from a holy and perfect God.
(Romans 3:23, Isaiah 53:6)

Understand that the penalty for your sin is death - eternal separation from God and all that is good.
(Romans 6:23, Hebrews 9:27)

Believe that Jesus Christ took the penalty for your sin by dying in your place and conquered death by raising from the dead.
(Romans 5:8, 2 Corinthians 5:21)

Receive the free gift of salvation by trusting in Christ alone as your Savior from sin and death and your provider of true and eternal life.
(Romans 4:4-5, 5:1, Ephesians 2:8-9)

One way you can express your trust in Jesus Christ is by telling God Himself:

"Dear God,

I know that I'm a sinner. I know my sin deserves to be punished. I believe Christ died for me and rose from the grave. I trust Jesus Christ alone as my Savior. Thank You for the forgiveness and everlasting life that I now have. It is because of Jesus that I have peace praying these things to you.

- Amen."
