Ministries: Small Groups: Next Steps
nextsteps_header
Welcome to NEXT STEPS, your resource for moving forward in your personal spiritual growth plan. By now, you should have completed the Spiritual Growth Inventory Planner. If not, click here to download a printable version of the Spiritual Growth Inventory Planner.

The most important part of the Spiritual Growth Inventory Planner is the planning page. This is where you will come up with an action plan – some next steps you can take that are realistic and achievable.

To assist you, we’ve come up with some helpful suggestions categorized under the headings: REFLECT, READ, RELATE AND RESPOND. Go through each one slowly, prayerfully and deliberately. Let the Holy Spirit guide you. God is in the process of transforming you into the likeness of His Son Jesus Christ. He will use His Word, His Spirit, and His people to bring about your spiritual transformation. We look forward to hearing what God is doing in your life as you move through this important process. These next steps are simply tools or resources that put you in the right place to hear from God so that you might be changed by God. Doing any of these things will not make you more spiritual. But they can help promote spiritual growth by providing an environment that is God-centered, Word-focused, and Spirit-led.

Take your next step with God by beginning
a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Admit that you're a sinner, separated from a holy and perfect God.
(Romans 3:23, Isaiah 53:6)

Understand that the penalty for your sin is death - eternal separation from God and all that is good.
(Romans 6:23, Hebrews 9:27)

Believe that Jesus Christ took the penalty for your sin by dying in your place and conquered death by raising from the dead.
(Romans 5:8, 2 Corinthians 5:21)

Receive the free gift of salvation by trusting in Christ alone as your Savior from sin and death and your provider of true and eternal life.
(Romans 4:4-5, 5:1, Ephesians 2:8-9)

One way you can express your trust in Jesus Christ is by telling God Himself:

"Dear God,

I know that I'm a sinner. I know my sin deserves to be punished. I believe Christ died for me and rose from the grave. I trust Jesus Christ alone as my Savior. Thank You for the forgiveness and everlasting life that I now have. It is because of Jesus that I have peace praying these things to you.

- Amen."
