New Study Series: Meet Your MakerBegins Sunday, Jan. 22The format of this Bible study series is unique from any other year. We have a three-part series designed to take your small group meetings through June. For each study, groups will meet every other week for four sessions, and then take a two-week break. Each lesson builds on the one before it, so we encourage you to go through the entire series. Schedule for the first study:Getting to Know God Better: Study One Session 1: Week of Jan. 22 Don't have a small group yet? You can join one today! Read below to learn how. Why Join a Small Group? At Christ Chapel, we put a high priority on small groups because we believe it is in the context of community that spiritual transformation takes place. In a small group setting, you can ask questions, participate in a discussion of the text, and hear others share insights and illustrations of the truth you are trying to grasp. Most people who have been a part of a group say the greatest benefit is the close relationships and friendships that develop. They will frequently telephone each other during the week to share an urgent prayer request or an exciting answer. You´ll discover that your needs and problems are not unique – we´re all in the same boat. It helps to know that others are facing the same difficulties, or have lived through them and learned spiritual principles in the process. Over fifty times in the New Testament the phrase "one another" is used to describe our relationship to other believers. We are instructed to love one another, encourage one another, pray for one another, accept one another, bear one another´s burdens, and build up one another. The only way you can obey these commands is in a small group! We really do need each other. God never meant for you to go it alone in the Christian life. What About My Kids?Childcare is managed on a group-by-group basis. Individual groups decide together how they will handle childcare in a way that works for them. Please contact the group leader to check on the availability and the method of childcare for their group. |
