ManPower: serving widows and single moms

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress (James 1:27). Paul says, "Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need"(1 Timothy 5:3). The Bible makes it very clear that God desires for the Church to take care of the needs of widows.

Christ Chapel's men want to put true religion into practice by serving the widows and single moms in our congregation. Our outreach method is simple. We ask four men to form a team and serve for three hours on one Saturday each month. The teams of men will work on any number of domestic projects, including basic home repairs, odd jobs, yard work, computer help, etc. These men are not required to have any specific skills or abilities in order to serve. For more information, contact the CCBC Serve team.

Service Day Schedule:

7 to 7:45 a.m. at Christ Chapel (Building H - Room 4)
7:45 to 10 a.m. at Care Recipient's Home

Take your next step with God by beginning
a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Admit that you're a sinner, separated from a holy and perfect God.
(Romans 3:23, Isaiah 53:6)

Understand that the penalty for your sin is death - eternal separation from God and all that is good.
(Romans 6:23, Hebrews 9:27)

Believe that Jesus Christ took the penalty for your sin by dying in your place and conquered death by raising from the dead.
(Romans 5:8, 2 Corinthians 5:21)

Receive the free gift of salvation by trusting in Christ alone as your Savior from sin and death and your provider of true and eternal life.
(Romans 4:4-5, 5:1, Ephesians 2:8-9)

One way you can express your trust in Jesus Christ is by telling God Himself:

"Dear God,

I know that I'm a sinner. I know my sin deserves to be punished. I believe Christ died for me and rose from the grave. I trust Jesus Christ alone as my Savior. Thank You for the forgiveness and everlasting life that I now have. It is because of Jesus that I have peace praying these things to you.

- Amen."
