“...I was blind but now I see!” John 9:25
Christ Chapel Bible Church will be hosting a one-day vision training seminar, called “Eye Doc in a Box,” on Saturday, Feb. 18. The purpose of this eye clinic will be to teach laypeople, who have a heart for foreign missions, how to perform refractive vision testing on patients in the missionary field, in order to give them the “gift of sight” in the form of a pair of properly-fitted prescription eye glasses. The seminar includes six hours of instruction, training and clinical practice. By the end of the day, you will be able to run an eye clinic in a third world country!
Dr. David Curtis, Optometrist/Missionary, has been on more than 40 mission trips, personally run hundreds of eye clinics in foreign countries and treated almost 100,000 patients. He has 27 years experience as an optometrist, and he has taught close to 30 eye clinic seminars in 11 different states, so your time will be well spent. Once again, the idea is to train lay mission team members how to perform vision testing in a foreign mission field, so you could add an “eye clinic” as a part of your next mission trip objectives.
