Manpower: Serving Widows and Single MomsReligion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress (James 1:27). Paul says, "Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need" (1 Timothy 5:3). The Bible makes it very clear that God desires for the Church to take care of the needs of widows. Christ Chapel's men want to put true religion into practice by serving the widows and single moms in our congregation. Our outreach method is simple. We ask four men to form a team and serve for three hours on one Saturday each month. The teams of men will work on any number of domestic projects, including basic home repairs, odd jobs, yard work, computer help, etc. These men are not required to have any specific skills or abilities in order to serve. Service Day Schedule: Service Opportunities for MenMighty Men Bible Studies – Each fall and spring, we host Thursday morning and evening men’s groups open to men of all ages. In order to pull this off, we need quite a few volunteers to help with the following teams: setup, cleanup, greeting and audio/video. Men’s Small Groups – Christ Chapel is a church of small groups. We’re always looking to form new men’s groups. In order to do this, we need men who are willing to lead and/or host a group of men throughout the year. Men’s Fellowship Team – Each year, we try to create opportunities that encourage fellowship and friendship among the men of Christ Chapel. These events range from Golf Tournaments to steak dinners to weekend retreats. We’re always looking for enthusiastic recruits to help in the planning and coordination of these events. Father/Child Event Teams – The Father/Son Weekend Getaway (K to 6th Grade) and the Daddy Daughter Dinner Dance (all ages) are extremely popular events that require a good bit of preparation. Short-term teams are formed each January to plan and coordinate these events which occur in April and June, respectively. Men’s Kiosk - The kiosk serves as a connecting point for men who want to find out more about Christ Chapel’s ministry to men. We’re always looking for friendly, outgoing volunteers who can man the kiosk before and after Sunday services. Game 7 Sports - The men’s sports ministry is always looking for men who can help organize and coach our men’s sports teams. Currently, we participate in spring and fall flag football and softball seasons, and winter basketball seasons through the city of Fort Worth athletic leagues. Interested in serving?
