Our Philosophy

As an independent, non-denominational Bible church, Christ Chapel is a self-governing local body of believers who embrace the following truths as non-negotiable and essential to our understanding and application of the Scriptures.

What We Believe

  • the verbal, plenary, inerrant inspiration of the Bible
  • the virgin birth, absolute deity and sinless life of Jesus Christ
  • the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ to provide salvation for all
  • the Person and work of the Holy Spirit
  • the reality of Satan and his destructive work today
  • the personal and bodily return of Jesus Christ
  • the bodily resurrection of all men: some to eternal life & some to everlasting punishment

Our Five Purposes

We are committed to helping you become a fully-developing follower of Christ, or what the New Testament calls “a disciple.” To accomplish this, we’ve designed our ministries around five New Testament spiritual purposes:
  • Worship - A growing passion for God’s glory
  • Connect - A growing capacity to love and be loved
  • Grow - A growing hunger for God’s Word
  • Serve - A growing desire to be God’s servant
  • Share - A growing excitement to tell God’s story

Our Core Values

We’re committed to:
  • Monday-morning - relevant biblical teaching
  • Grace manifested in loving relationships where we expect neither more nor less of each other than the Bible does
  • Unity in our decisions, our planning and our daily interactions
  • Being purpose-driven toward the spiritual development of every involved person
  • Honoring God through the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of our ministry
  • The priesthood of the believer and to a permission-giving mentality as it relates to every believer’s ministry involvement
  • Allowing God to speak through the daily provision of our financial needs, including a debt-free facility
  • Encouraging personal shepherding and life change through small groups

History

In the summer of 1980, 60 individuals gathered together to discuss the formation of a new independent Bible church in Fort Worth, Texas. This diverse group was a cross section of the community, consisting of stockbrokers and financial advisors, small business owners and corporate executives, employers and employees, engineers and homemakers—all with a common love for Christ and a shared desire to establish a church that would impact their community through the teaching of the inerrant Word of God. Less than one month after that initial meeting, the church had been formally organized, a Board of Elders appointed, and a name selected: Christ Chapel Bible Church.

Our original home was the Texas Girls Choir building, once home of the Gideon Baptist Church. We met in this facility for just over three years, and during that time grew from the original 60 founders to more than 350. Our search for a new permanent home led us to our current location, the former home of Birchman Avenue Baptist Church. Having recently constructed a new facility of their own, they were anxious that the new owner of the old location be a church. With a no-debt policy and a small congregation of just over 350, we were faced with the formidable task of raising the $200,000 necessary for our initial payment on the $680,000 purchase price, with the remainder to be paid out over time—interest-free. Miraculously, the entire $200,000 was raised in one month, and we moved into our new home on January 1, 1984. Just 21 months later we were able to pay off the remaining $480,000. More than three years ahead of schedule!

Over the years, Christ Chapel has experienced tremendous growth and God has enabled us to expand our campus from the original half-city block to the current configuration anchored by our new, debt-free 1,500-seat auditorium. God’s miraculous leadership of and provision for our church has been truly amazing. He continues to guide and direct us through our pastoral staff, elders, deacons and gifted ministerial team. We look forward to seeing what He is going to do in the years ahead.

Take your next step with God by beginning
a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Admit that you're a sinner, separated from a holy and perfect God.
(Romans 3:23, Isaiah 53:6)

Understand that the penalty for your sin is death - eternal separation from God and all that is good.
(Romans 6:23, Hebrews 9:27)

Believe that Jesus Christ took the penalty for your sin by dying in your place and conquered death by raising from the dead.
(Romans 5:8, 2 Corinthians 5:21)

Receive the free gift of salvation by trusting in Christ alone as your Savior from sin and death and your provider of true and eternal life.
(Romans 4:4-5, 5:1, Ephesians 2:8-9)

One way you can express your trust in Jesus Christ is by telling God Himself:

"Dear God,

I know that I'm a sinner. I know my sin deserves to be punished. I believe Christ died for me and rose from the grave. I trust Jesus Christ alone as my Savior. Thank You for the forgiveness and everlasting life that I now have. It is because of Jesus that I have peace praying these things to you.

- Amen."
